Laboratory Scientist – Analytical Chemistry

About the role

The Laboratory Scientist will deliver analytical services in accordance with ISO 17025 and the Laboratory Quality Manual, supporting the objectives of DAL and ADLQ.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and implement SOPs, ensuring compliance with SOP 003 and the Laboratory Quality Manual.
• Provide training to permanent and temporary staff on SOPs and task areas.
• Perform laboratory and instrumental analyses strictly following approved SOPs and recorded training.
• Maintain laboratory safety, hygiene, security and confidentiality of all analytical results.
• Secure documentation and data in both electronic and hard‑copy formats and avoid unauthorized sharing.
• Participate in scientific knowledge exchange, stay updated on regulations, standards and technological developments, and collaborate with other accredited anti‑doping laboratories.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in an anti‑doping or analytical laboratory environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Certification as a Scientist in at least one laboratory section.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Strong organizational, time‑management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Analytical chemistry knowledge.
• Anti‑doping analytical technologies and laboratory methodologies.
• Proficiency with MS Windows, Word, Excel and scientific/instrumental software.
• Instrumentation handling and maintenance.
