Lead Internal Auditor

About the role

Qatar Airways is seeking a Lead Internal Auditor to join its Internal Audit team in Doha. The role supports the line manager in delivering audits and projects, ensuring governance, risk management and control practices meet the Group’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in improving internal audit methodologies to increase efficiency.
• Build trusted relationships with operational management and act as an advisory partner.
• Lead or support audits and projects aligned with the 5‑year and annual risk‑based audit plans.
• Identify key risks, execute audits following Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) and deliver measurable value.
• Ensure audits are completed within approved timeframes, budgets and methodologies.
• Conduct follow‑ups to close audit recommendations promptly.
• Provide advice on enhancing internal controls and risk management processes.
• Communicate with business units to prioritize audit areas and support unplanned assignments as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in internal audit, risk assessment and governance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with operational management as a trusted advisor.
• Strong understanding of audit standards, particularly Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS).
• Capability to manage audit projects within time and budget constraints.
