Legal Specialist

About the role

The Legal Specialist will support Qatar Airways Group by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of commercial, corporate, and construction contracts. Working closely with internal departments and the Group Legal Department, the role ensures compliance with applicable laws and minimizes legal risk.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractual templates across jurisdictions, including Qatar and England & Wales.
• Negotiate and draft commercial agreements, construction contracts, and service contracts with suppliers and service providers.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and legal risks, escalating issues when necessary.
• Manage disputes, advise internal stakeholders during RFP processes, and interpret third‑party terms.
• Coordinate and oversee external counsel and ensure contracts align with corporate policies.
• Support the Head of Department with additional legal duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
• Qualified lawyer in a recognized jurisdiction.
• Experience in a law firm or dedicated legal environment, preferably with commercial and construction contracts.
• Strong legal drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent presentation skills.
• Self‑starter with a flexible, “can‑do” attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Word.
