Overhead Line Design Engineer

About the role

The Overhead Line Design Engineer is responsible for designing high‑voltage overhead transmission lines, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and project requirements. The role involves preparing design calculations, drawings, material specifications, coordinating with project stakeholders, and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review preliminary and detailed designs of HV/EHV overhead transmission lines in accordance with applicable standards.
• Approve EPC contractor deliverables such as layout, circuit diagrams, line routing, PLS‑CADD models, tower spotting, structural calculations, foundation designs, and material specifications.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, clients, contractors, and third parties, and respond to technical and contractual communications.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning, including witnessing factory testing and supporting site teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in design or design review of 132 kV and 220 kV overhead lines.
• Familiarity with IEC standards for overhead lines and proven use of PLS‑CADD for plan & profile, tower spotting, and sag‑tension calculations.
• Experience with FAT/SAT procedures is a plus.
• Availability for a short‑term, 3‑month contract.

Required skills
