Paymaster

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Paymaster to manage payroll processing, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and support employees with payroll‑related inquiries. The role combines detailed data handling with strong communication to maintain compliance and confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.
• Organise, secure and maintain files, records, cash and cash equivalents in line with policies.
• Record, store and analyse computerized financial and payroll information.
• Prepare, maintain and distribute financial, accounting and payroll reports.
• Maintain and archive employee payroll records and files.
• Review, verify and reconcile punches, hours worked, pay adjustments and post information to designated records.
• Back up transaction files and transmit them to the payroll system.
• Process and issue employee paychecks and earnings statements.
• Compute wages and deductions and enter them into the payroll system.
• Provide payroll, tax and benefit information to employees and managers.
• Complete batch adjustments and adjust time‑clock system settings.
• Follow company policies, maintain confidentiality and protect assets.
• Communicate professionally, support team goals and perform light physical tasks (≤10 lb).

• Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Physical ability to lift or move objects up to 10 lb.
• Proficiency with computer systems and data entry.
