Population Health Research Specialist (IPH)

About the role

Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar is looking for a Specialist, Population Health Research for its Institute for Population Health (IPH). The position manages and supports population health research projects and activities, including study design, data collection, analysis, reporting and coordination of the project life cycle. Work days are Sunday to Thursday, and sponsorship eligibility is yes.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in population health research from inception to delivery and ensure project timelines and deliverables.
• Support recruitment, training and orientation of research staff and sites.
• Meet regularly with stakeholders, collaborators and study teams to collect and communicate requirements and escalate issues.
• Liaise with WCMC-Q, Hamad Medical Corporation, the Ministry of Public Health, primary health care centres, the IRB and other stakeholders.
• Conduct and coordinate research according to appropriate methodology and research plans.
• Analyse and interpret research data.
• Write research reports, academic publications, social media content and newsletters as directed.
• Support and facilitate IPH and medical education programmes, and guide students and team members.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or MBBS).
• Master's degree in Public Health or PhD in a health science or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of research experience in Qatar or another comparable country.
• Experience with medical and scientific writing in peer-reviewed journals and reports.

Required skills

• Knowledge of population health research design and process.
• Good project management, presentation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
