About the role
The Preschool Teacher Assistant supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young children. This role involves assisting with classroom management, preparing instructional materials, and promoting positive development.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and educational games.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and outdoor play to ensure safety.
- Help prepare and organize learning materials and classroom displays.
- Maintain a clean and hazard‑free environment, including sanitising toys and equipment.
- Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support for children needing extra help.
- Observe children’s development and report concerns or progress to the lead teacher.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Early Childhood Education (required).
- Prior experience working with young children in an educational or care setting (preferred).
- Strong communication, patience, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
