Professor in Actuarial Science

About the role

The National University of Malaysia – Qatar seeks a highly qualified Professor in Actuarial Science to join its faculty. The successful candidate will lead undergraduate teaching, develop curricula, and support students preparing for professional actuarial examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate courses in actuarial science, including financial mathematics, probability, actuarial mathematics, risk theory, stochastic processes, and actuarial modelling.
• Guide students in preparation for SOA examinations such as FM, P, LTAM, and STAM.
• Conduct and publish high‑quality research in actuarial science and related fields.
• Develop new curricula and supervise postgraduate research projects.
• Participate in academic leadership activities and departmental committees.

Required profile

• PhD in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Risk Management, or a closely related discipline.
• Proven university teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
• Distinguished record of research publications and academic leadership.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring abilities.
