Project Director – Aquifer Storage & Recovery Projects

About the role

An international engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Project Director to lead major Aquifer Storage & Recovery (ASR) projects in Qatar. The role covers the full project lifecycle from planning and design through construction, commissioning and operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, design coordination, construction, commissioning and implementation of ASR projects.
• Direct multidisciplinary engineering teams to meet quality, safety, schedule and budget targets.
• Manage client relationships and coordinate with consultants, contractors and government authorities.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks and apply mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, technical specifications and international engineering standards.
• Provide strategic leadership and technical oversight throughout all delivery phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of experience delivering large‑scale water infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience with design, construction and operation of ASR or similar groundwater storage systems.
• At least 3 years working for an engineering consultancy.
• Mandatory PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
