Project Director – Power EPC Projects

About the role

The Project Director – Power EPC Projects provides end‑to‑end leadership for large‑scale engineering, procurement and construction projects in the power sector, covering thermal, combined‑cycle, renewable, transmission and substation assets. The role is accountable for delivering projects safely, on schedule and within budget while ensuring technical quality and managing client, consortium and regulator relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Own full delivery of power EPC projects from contract award through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Direct interface between civil, mechanical, electrical and I&C engineering disciplines and construction teams to ensure constructible, code‑compliant designs.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies for turbines, generators, transformers, switchgear and balance‑of‑plant equipment, managing vendor selection, expediting and logistics.
• Provide executive oversight of site construction, sequencing work fronts, monitoring subcontractor performance and ensuring quality compliance.
• Lead pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities, coordinating with OEMs to achieve reliable plant start‑up.
• Maintain rigorous cost and schedule control, perform earned value analysis, manage variations, claims and contract administration.
• Champion zero‑harm HSE and process safety throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience delivering multi‑million‑dollar power EPC projects.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making and stakeholder management skills.
• Deep knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with contract administration, variation orders and claims handling.
