Psychologist – Developmental Pediatrics (PhD)

About the role

The Psychologist – Developmental Pediatrics (PhD) provides specialist psychological intakes, assessments, and interventions for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders in Sidra Medicine’s Outpatient Clinic. The role involves comprehensive testing, treatment planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological intakes, behavioral assessments, and interventions for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Conduct comprehensive psychological, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological testing and formulate formal treatment plans.
• Compose detailed written reports and review school or medical records to enhance case understanding.
• Communicate with schools and parents (with consent) to advise on educational placement and therapy interventions.
• Deliver evidence‑based treatments such as CBT for anxiety, social‑skills training, and group parent education for ASD.
• Offer specialized play‑based therapies (e.g., DIRFloortime®) focused on functional emotional development.
• Provide specialist advice, guidance, and consultation to multidisciplinary team members.
• Participate in peer consultation, multidisciplinary meetings, and stay current with clinical literature.
• Supervise students, trainees, and early‑career colleagues.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D., PsyD or DClinPsych) in Clinical Psychology.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a licensed clinical psychologist, including at least 3 years working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Current clinical psychologist license in country of origin and eligibility for licensure in Qatar.
• Three years of supervised clinical work or 4,000 hours of supervised experience.
