Purchasing Specialist

About the role

The Purchasing Specialist supports the Unit Purchasing Manager in developing and executing sourcing plans for a specific business unit. Working closely with internal functions, the role identifies local sourcing opportunities, manages supplier tenders, and acts as the contract owner for direct material, spare parts and installation services.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with unit business functions to understand material, spare parts and installation needs.
• Identify and develop local sourcing opportunities for direct materials, spares and installation subcontractors.
• Negotiate frame contracts, price lists and RFQs with suppliers, and act as contract owner.
• Support implementation of global or area category plans within the unit and, when required, for other units.
• Define source plans for customer projects, run project‑specific RFQs and advise project teams on preferred suppliers.
• Collect requirements for indirect spend and support related sourcing projects.
• Maintain local procurement policies, provide guidance on preferred suppliers and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; additional qualifications in Supply Chain Management or Procurement are a plus.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Strong knowledge of the relevant supply market and experience in supplier tendering, negotiation and contract management.
