QC Welding Inspector – Quality Control

About the role

The QC Welding Inspector will independently perform quality control inspections of welding activities for an oil & gas client. The role ensures that all welding work complies with approved drawings, procedures, codes and project specifications while maintaining strict HSE standards on site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑process and final QC inspections of welding works according to ITPs, drawings and specifications.
• Monitor welding activities for compliance with approved WPS, PQR and WPQ documents.
• Verify welder qualifications and traceability of welding consumables.
• Coordinate and review NDT requirements (RT, UT, MT, PT) with the NDT team and assess results against acceptance criteria.
• Review contractor/sub‑contractor QC documentation, material certificates and inspection & test records.
• Raise Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) for deviations and follow corrective actions to closure.
• Ensure continuous compliance with project HSE requirements while on site.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Welding or related engineering discipline, or equivalent trade background.
• Current CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification (mandatory).
• Working knowledge of ASME Section IX, API 1104 and relevant welding codes/standards.
• AWS‑CWI certification is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of QC inspection experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or LNG EPC/brownfield projects.
