Radiation Protection Officer

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Radiation Protection Officer to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive radiation protection program that safeguards employees, the public, and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive radiation protection program.
• Oversee the use of ionizing radiation sources, including X‑ray and gamma‑ray equipment for NDT inspections.
• Establish and enforce radiation safety policies, procedures, and work practices.
• Conduct radiation surveys and monitor radiation levels at job sites and storage areas.
• Ensure radiographic testing activities comply with regulations such as OSHA, NRC, and IAEA.
• Provide radiation safety training and guidance to NDT technicians and other personnel.
• Maintain detailed records of radiation exposure, equipment calibration, and program activities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and auditors.

Required profile

• Certified Radiation Protection Technologist (CRPT) or equivalent certification.
• Thorough knowledge of radiation protection principles, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and training skills for engaging all personnel levels.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Required skills

• Certified Radiation Protection Technologist (CRPT) certification.
• Proficiency with radiation detection and monitoring equipment.
