Research Nurse – Clinical Trial Office

About the role

The Research Nurse works within the Clinical Trial Office of the Advanced Cell Therapy Core, coordinating investigators and supporting scientists in clinical research. The role focuses on enrolling human subjects, collecting biological samples and data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Enroll human subjects and obtain informed consent, maintaining consent logs.
• Collect, store, and transport biological samples (blood, saliva, buccal swabs) and related data.
• Enter and manage data in research databases, ensuring accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
• Liaise with Sidra nurses, external healthcare providers, and medical records departments to facilitate data collection.
• Conduct face‑to‑face interviews and follow‑up calls or visits with patients and families.
• Assist investigators in preparing and amending study protocols for IRB review.
• Identify data issues, alert principal investigators, and support protocol creation, amendment, closure, and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent) with a postgraduate qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in clinical research, preferably in feto‑maternal or child health.
• Registered with the relevant regulatory body; QCHP licensing obtainable within 6 months.
• Certification in Good Clinical Practice and Society of Clinical Research Associates.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and word processing tools.
• Experience using database and statistical software for research data management.
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and regulatory requirements for clinical research.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; fluency in Arabic is a plus.
