Risk Management Consultant – Tax Authority (GCC)

About the role

The Risk Management Consultant will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk management framework for a tax authority operating in the GCC region. This role focuses on safeguarding organizational, financial, operational, reputational, and cyber risks while ensuring compliance with regional tax laws.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, maintain a risk register, and use data analytics to monitor mitigation effectiveness.
• Develop and implement a risk management framework tailored to GCC-specific requirements, define risk appetite, and deliver risk awareness training.
• Design and implement internal controls, collaborate with stakeholders to embed risk considerations into business processes, and regularly update controls.
• Monitor compliance with tax regulations, produce regular risk exposure reports for senior management, and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, law or related field; Master’s or professional risk management certification preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in risk management within tax or related organizations.
• In‑depth knowledge of GCC tax laws, regulations and business practices.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and control strategies.
