Safety Engineer

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a Safety Engineer in Doha, in the energy and utilities sector. The role covers the implementation and maintenance of safety policies and programmes, risk assessment, audits and incident investigation across the company's premises and projects.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of safety policies and programmes for occupational and personnel safety.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, identify hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
• Carry out regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment and projects.
• Investigate safety incidents, accidents and near-misses and recommend preventive actions.
• Develop and run emergency response plans and drills, and train personnel.
• Improve safety programmes and assist in developing safety management procedures in line with quality, procedural and legislative requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical, industrial or fire and safety engineering from a reputable university.
• At least 12 years of experience in fire and safety, including at least 5 years in the utilities (power and water) sector.
• Fluent English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
