Security Strategy & Risk Consulting Internship

About the role

IBM Consulting is seeking a motivated intern to support its Cyber Strategy & Risk team in delivering cybersecurity strategy, risk management and compliance services to clients in Qatar. The role offers hands‑on experience in research, analysis and the creation of client‑ready deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing cybersecurity strategies, roadmaps, operating models and maturity improvement plans.
• Conduct research on emerging threats, regulatory requirements and best practices; benchmark against frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001 and CIS Controls.
• Support risk assessments, document risk registers, treatment plans and remediation tracking, and prepare risk dashboards.
• Review policies, standards and procedures; help with compliance assessments against ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, Qatar NIA and other regulations.
• Prepare workshop materials, meeting notes, action trackers and client deliverables; maintain project documentation and perform data analysis and QA.

Required profile

• Qatari national currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Risk Management or a related field.
• Strong interest in cybersecurity governance, risk, compliance and consulting.
• Good understanding of basic cybersecurity concepts such as threats, vulnerabilities, controls and data protection.
• Analytical, research and documentation skills with ability to work independently and in a team.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus.
