Senior Consultant – Trauma Surgery

About the role

The Senior Consultant in Trauma Surgery provides the highest level of clinical care for patients admitted under their name and leads a multidisciplinary team of consultants and junior doctors. This senior medical position works closely with the Department Chair or Section Head on service development, budgeting, staffing, and academic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Direct patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, management, and admission under personal clinical privileges.
• Supervise clinical decisions made by junior doctors and other team members.
• Collaborate with department leadership on service development, funding, budgets, and staffing.
• Lead teaching and training programs for junior doctors.
• Contribute to academic research and departmental priorities.

Required profile

• Western medical qualification (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience in Trauma Surgery.
• Valid medical license/registration from home country and/or eligibility for licensing in Qatar.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care, safety, and clinical excellence.
