Senior Consultant Trauma Surgery

About the role

The Senior Consultant in Trauma Surgery provides expert clinical leadership within the trauma department of Hamad Medical Corp. Reporting to the Department Chair, the role combines direct patient care with supervision of consultants, junior doctors and allied staff.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, manage and admit trauma patients under personal clinical privileges.
• Supervise and mentor a team of consultants and junior doctors, ensuring safe and effective clinical decisions.
• Collaborate with the department chair on service development, budgeting, staffing and funding matters.
• Lead teaching and training activities for junior doctors and contribute to academic and research initiatives.

Required profile

• Western medical qualification (UK, USA, Canada, Australia or equivalent).
• Minimum five years of post‑qualification experience in trauma surgery.
• Valid medical licence/registration in the home country and eligibility for licensing in Qatar.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to high standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
