Senior Control Systems Engineer

About the role

The Senior Control Systems Engineer will provide in‑depth engineering support for DCS, ESD, FGS and PLC platforms, ensuring safety, reliability and operational efficiency for QatarEnergy LNG’s expansion and start‑up projects.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver control‑system engineering support in line with regulatory requirements, project specifications and approved variations.
• Participate in HAZOP and SIL workshops, design reviews, risk assessments and functional safety management of ESD systems.
• Support factory acceptance testing, offshore start‑up, commissioning and troubleshooting of control‑system issues.
• Administer DCS/SIS/PLC systems (user access, OEM case follow‑up, service contracts) to maintain reliability and availability.
• Coordinate Management of Change (MOC) processes, feasibility studies and project milestones, ensuring compliance with company and international standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of technical engineering experience in oil & gas, with proven control‑systems expertise.
• Fluent verbal and written English.

Required skills

• Experience with DCS, SIS and PLC platforms (Foxboro, Emerson, Honeywell, Triconex, CCC).
• Knowledge of control‑system applications such as AMS, APC and PI systems.
• Familiarity with IEC, ANSI/ISA and API RP standards.
• Hands‑on experience in start‑up and commissioning of compressors, gas turbines and fired heaters/boilers.
