Senior Cost Control Manager – EPC Projects

About the role

The Senior Cost Control Manager will lead cost governance, budgeting and financial performance for multiple large‑scale EPC projects in Oil & Gas, Power Generation and related sectors. Reporting to the Project Controls Director, the role acts as the corporate cost authority, ensuring accurate budgets, forecasts and reporting for executive decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce cost control policies, procedures, standards and governance frameworks across all EPC projects.
• Develop and maintain Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS), budgeting procedures, forecasting methodologies (ETC/EAC) and commitment/accrual processes.
• Prepare, review and control project budgets, cost baselines, cash‑flow projections and forecasts to completion.
• Monitor project expenditures, forecast accuracy and analyse productivity trends, risks and cost performance drivers.
• Consolidate data into executive‑level portfolio reports, dashboards and early‑warning alerts on overruns, variances and risks.
• Manage cost aspects of variations, change orders, claims and counter‑claims, providing cost impact assessments for commercial negotiations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in cost control for large‑scale Oil & Gas, Power Generation or infrastructure EPC projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to challenge unrealistic assumptions.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary cost teams.
• Excellent analytical abilities and data‑driven decision‑making.
