Senior Cyber Security Engineer – OT

About the role

Qatar Petroleum is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to protect its Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) environment. You will lead the implementation and operation of security controls, ensuring that cyber risks are managed to acceptable levels while advancing the organization’s security maturity.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and operate information security controls across OT/ICS platforms.
• Develop and maintain procedures that align with corporate security policies and standards.
• Assess and mitigate cyber security risks in large energy‑sector environments.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to increase security awareness and maturity.
• Monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents affecting OT networks.

Required profile

• Minimum seven (7) years of professional experience in large‑scale ICS/OT and ICT environments, preferably in oil & gas.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information security, computer science or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of interacting with technical and business leadership.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Industrial Control System solutions (e.g., Distributed Control Systems, SCADA).
• Proficiency with Cisco network technologies.
• Experience with firewalls, anti‑malware and other information security technologies.
• Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, GIAC, GICSP, GRID or equivalents.
