Senior Dynamic Positioning Officer (DP)

About the role

The Senior Dynamic Positioning Officer (SDPO) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's DP system during offshore activities. Reporting to the Master, the SDPO ensures compliance with international regulations, company policies, and client requirements while fostering a strong safety culture onboard.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the DP system during all offshore operations.
• Identify, respond to, and resolve DP alarms, failures, and emergency situations.
• Assist the Master in emergency response, security arrangements, and planning offshore operations.
• Conduct safety inductions, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
• Mentor and develop Junior DP Officers and DPOs.
• Monitor weather, sea conditions, traffic and operational risks.
• Maintain firefighting and lifesaving equipment as directed.
• Ensure compliance with HSSE policies and report any safety concerns.

Required profile

• Certificate of Competency (CoC) as per STCW Regulation II/1.
• DP certification (unlimited) and flag‑state DP certificate where applicable.
• Valid offshore medical certificate.
• Relevant training in accordance with the TOL Training Matrices.
• Proven experience in senior DP roles on offshore vessels.
