Senior Lead Internal Auditor

About the role

You will lead risk‑based internal audits across capital projects and construction operations, applying a strong internal audit background to large‑scale, contract‑driven environments. The position reports to the Internal Audit Manager and works closely with project directors, commercial managers and finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute risk‑based internal audit engagements across PIH’s capital projects, including JV‑structured projects, following the IIA’s International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF).
• Test and evaluate project controls such as cost management, scheduling, variation orders, claims, subcontractor management and contract compliance.
• Develop and execute Risk Control Matrices (RCMs), distinguishing design effectiveness from operating effectiveness.
• Perform fieldwork, gather evidence, and prepare workpapers that support clear, defensible audit conclusions.
• Draft audit findings, contribute to audit reports, and ensure findings are accurate, risk‑rated, well‑evidenced and actionable.
• Engage with project and commercial stakeholders to discuss observations and agree on corrective action plans.
• Track open findings through to remediation closure and support the Internal Audit Manager in planning and scoping engagements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certification (CIA, CPA, CFE or equivalent) preferred or in progress.
• 6‑8 years of internal audit experience with exposure to construction, EPC or infrastructure project environments.
• Strong understanding of EPC contract structures, JV governance, claims, variation orders and project cost controls.
• Proven ability to engage confidently with senior project and commercial stakeholders.
• Willingness to be based in or relocate to Doha, Qatar.

Required skills

• Risk‑based audit methodologies aligned to the IIA IPPF.
• Project controls evaluation (cost, schedule, variations, claims).
• Knowledge of EPC contract structures and JV governance.
