Senior Oil Spill Responder

About the role

The Senior Oil Spill Responder ensures that the base maintains the highest level of readiness for hydrocarbon spill incidents. Working closely with the Operations Supervisor, the role involves day‑to‑day management of contractors, HSE compliance, and coordination with internal QatarEnergy departments and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Operations Supervisor in daily operational activities and contractor oversight.
• Maintain and enforce HSE standards across all spill‑response operations.
• Lead timely and effective response actions for oil spills within Qatar or other designated locations.
• Implement response procedures that align with international best practices and national legislation.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in oil spill response organisations or offshore/marine oil and gas industry.
• Excellent written and spoken English (QP English Level 4 or higher).
• Diploma in Mechanical, Marine or Environmental disciplines.
• Valid IMO Level 2 training certificate and commercial boat operating certificate.

Required skills

• Proficiency in oil spill response techniques and strategies.
• Valid lifting and slinging certification.
• Valid forklift licence.
• Commercial boat operation competency.
