Senior SOC Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior SOC Engineer to lead security operations, threat detection and vulnerability management for critical infrastructure in Qatar. The ideal candidate brings over eight years of hands‑on experience in security monitoring, incident response and detection engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Lead real‑time security monitoring and advanced incident investigations across SIEM, XDR, NDR, OT and cloud environments, ensuring SLA/KPI compliance.
• Develop, tune and optimise SIEM/XDR correlation rules aligned with the MITRE ATT&CK framework, onboard log sources and reduce false positives.
• Manage the full vulnerability lifecycle—from discovery to remediation validation—using risk‑based prioritisation with CVSS, Tenable or Qualys.
• Conduct proactive, hypothesis‑driven threat‑hunting exercises and integrate threat‑intelligence feeds into monitoring platforms.
• Translate technical findings into business‑focused risk metrics, produce executive dashboards on patch compliance, vulnerability ageing and audit evidence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 8 + years of experience in information security and SOC environments.
• At least one mandatory certification: Tenable Certified Nessus Professional, Tenable Certified Security Center, Qualys Certified Specialist – Vulnerability Management or Qualys Certified Specialist – Web Application Scanning.
• Preferred certifications: CEH, Microsoft SC‑200 or OSCP.

Required skills

• Strong command of SIEM tools, EDR/XDR, and NDR platforms.
• Experience with vulnerability management tools such as Tenable or Qualys.
• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and OT environments.
• Basic scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, KQL or SPL).
• Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework and CVSS scoring.
