Senior Technical Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Technical Lead to own end-to-end delivery, architecture, and code quality for multiple product areas built on a shared microservices platform. You will lead a cross-functional squad of full-stack engineers, drive platform decisions, and ensure reliable production operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a squad of 5–10 engineers (backend, frontend, mobile) through sprint planning, design reviews, PR reviews, 1:1s and performance management.
• Define and own architecture decisions for your product areas and collaborate with other Tech Leads and the Head of Technology on platform-wide concerns such as shared authentication, common backend services, mobile apps and analytics pipelines.
• Set engineering quality standards including PR review criteria, branching and cherry-pick discipline, test coverage, migration safety and incident response.
• Translate product requirements into a technical roadmap, break down work, estimate effort, sequence tasks and ship releases.
• Write production code on critical paths, unblock the team, prototype risky changes and deliver hot-fixes when needed.
• Run incident response for production issues, perform root-cause analysis, write post-mortems and implement preventive measures.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience building production web platforms.
• 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
• Strong background in microservices architecture and full-stack development.
• Proven ability to make architecture decisions and influence cross-product platform strategy.

Required skills

• NestJS monorepos (apps + libs structure).
• Next.js App Router with server components, ISR/SSR and dynamic routes.
• TypeScript (strict mode) and modern React (hooks, MUI, Tailwind).
• PostgreSQL at scale – schema design, indexing, query optimisation, Sequelize ORM, migration discipline.
• Azure services: Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL, AI Search, Elasticsearch, Container Apps, App Services, Function Apps, Service Bus, Storage Blob, Front Door.
• CI/CD with Azure DevOps Pipelines (build, ACR push, container deployment, QA-to-production workflows).
• AI integration experience with Azure OpenAI (chat, embeddings, prompt design, JSON response handling, retries/fallbacks).
