Solutions Architect – Building & Energy Management Systems

About the role

ABEC is seeking a Solutions Architect to design and deliver control‑automation and monitoring solutions for Building Management Systems (BMS), Power Management Systems (PMS), PLC, SCADA and energy‑monitoring projects across the Middle East. The role bridges the bid team and project delivery, ensuring technical designs are complete, approved and ready for construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical interface between bid teams, external suppliers and internal stakeholders, shaping the solution for new projects.
• Develop detailed design documentation for BMS/PMS, PLC, SCADA and power‑monitoring systems, from specification to construction hand‑over.
• Support Project Managers and Lead Engineers during design and implementation, ensuring projects stay on schedule and budget.
• Provide expertise and guidance on tools, techniques and process improvements to the engineering team.
• Maintain accurate communication with project and engineering managers and record timesheets and expenses.
• Mentor junior engineers and fellow architects, sharing best practices and technical knowledge.
• Lead technical solution design for complex, high‑value projects and contribute strategic input during bid preparation.
• Recommend and introduce new engineering methodologies, tools and processes to improve quality and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and delivering BMS, PLC, SCADA or energy‑monitoring projects.
• Ability to produce complete technical design packages ready for construction and commissioning.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with clients, suppliers and internal teams.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and driving engineering best practices.
