Sr. Project Engineer - Structure, Major Projects

About the role

The Senior Project Engineer – Structure will support the Head of Section in leading engineering activities for major projects at QAFCO. The role focuses on design, development, coordination, implementation and control of civil and structural works, ensuring they align with the company’s strategy and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Civil & Structure in coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities to meet project objectives and EPCC contract requirements.
• Track and report progress of engineering deliverables, highlight deviations and support recovery actions.
• Review technical documentation from EPCC contractors, including datasheets, drawings, specifications and vendor documents, and verify compliance with project specifications.
• Support acceptance of fabrication schedules, coordinate QA/QC inspections, and follow up on fabrication progress.
• Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper installation of equipment and systems, and participate in on‑site inspections.
• Support mechanical completion activities, generate and close punch‑list items, and monitor engineering deliverables against commissioning schedules.
• Coordinate engineering interfaces between internal departments (Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Procurement) and EPCC contractors.

Required profile

• Minimum 96 months (8 years) of relevant experience in civil/structural engineering.
• Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage EPCC contract requirements.
• Experience with QA/QC processes, fabrication schedule review and mechanical completion activities.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to support technical decision‑making.
