Subsea Pre-commissioning Engineer

About the role

Saipem is seeking a Subsea Pre‑commissioning Engineer to join its Qatar team within the Subsea Pre‑commissioning Engineering Department. Reporting to the Pre‑commissioning Manager and Offshore Method Lead, the engineer will ensure technical integrity, cost control and schedule compliance throughout the engineering phases of offshore projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the overall engineering schedule in line with contract requirements.
• Identify technical issues, make decisions within contractual limits and communicate them to the Project Engineer and managers.
• Prepare detailed specifications, definitions and task breakdowns, or supervise their preparation.
• Define material and service requirements, approve technical designs for purchase or construction.
• Participate in client meetings, technical design reviews and audits.
• Perform engineering calculations and verifications required for methodology implementation.
• Supervise drafting of methodology documents and compile a manual summarising activities and critical points.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Marine, Offshore).
• Experience in subsea or offshore pre‑commissioning activities.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC and HSE requirements.
• Ability to work under contractual constraints and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Engineering design and calculation techniques.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures.
• Familiarity with HSE standards for offshore projects.
