Teacher Assistant – Classroom Support & Bus Supervision

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teacher Assistant to support classroom activities and provide additional supervision, including bus duties, for our students. The role involves assisting teachers with lesson preparation, supporting pupils across the curriculum, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with lesson planning, assessment processes and the organization of learning materials.
• Support children across the curriculum, with a focus on maths, reading and writing.
• Provide extra help to children with special needs or for whom English is not the first language.
• Prepare and manage ICT equipment such as computers, iPads, digital cameras and educational tools.
• Lead small groups or individual tasks, read stories, and supervise playtime and transition periods.
• Accompany children on trips, ensure safe boarding and alighting on school buses, and conduct pre‑ and post‑trip safety checks.
• Maintain confidentiality, report safeguarding incidents and comfort distressed children.
• Assist with marking, classroom events, art and craft preparation, and display of student work.

Required profile

• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures and ability to support vulnerable pupils.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
• Reliability and willingness to supervise during transition times and bus journeys.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency with common ICT equipment (computers, iPads, digital cameras, educational devices).
• First‑aid awareness for handling emergencies on the bus.
