Technical Lead (SCADA)

About the role

Avanceon, an industrial automation and digital transformation organisation active in Oil & Gas, Water & Wastewater, Infrastructure, Manufacturing and Utilities, is looking for a highly experienced Technical Lead to join its automation team. This is a short-term contractual role in which the lead designs, implements and delivers complex SCADA projects, mentors engineers and ensures successful delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration, integration and implementation of SCADA solutions across multiple industries
• Define User Requirement Specifications (URS) and prepare software and hardware design specifications
• Lead development, testing, deployment and documentation of SCADA applications, and set up validation and testing protocols
• Oversee procurement of software, hardware and licenses, and prepare scope of supply documents and technical proposals
• Estimate engineering effort and man-hours, and manage project delivery from start to commissioning
• Monitor progress and lead on-site installation, testing, commissioning and system start-up
• Provide technical guidance and training to operators, engineers and client teams, and mentor junior engineers

Required profile

• B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Computer Engineering
• 7-8 years of experience in automation / SCADA engineering roles
• Minimum 2-3 years in a technical leadership or supervisory role
• Candidates available in Qatar with a valid transferable work visa preferred; Indian nationals encouraged to apply

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with SCADA platforms such as AVEVA System Platform, FactoryTalk or WinCC
• Understanding of Windows Server, SQL databases and industrial networking
• Experience supervising field installations (cabling, containment, instrumentation) is an added advantage
• Leadership, communication and multi-project management skills
