Technical Learning & Development Specialist – Energy Sector

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Learning & Development Specialist to design and deliver specialised training programmes for engineers and technical staff in the power‑plant sector. The role combines an engineering background with strong L&D expertise to ensure the workforce acquires the skills needed for safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and organise training road‑maps for managers and technical personnel, both locally and overseas.
• Manage development programmes for new recruits, guiding them to competent technical positions.
• Coordinate with educational partners such as Qatar Energy and CNA‑Q on scholarships and joint programmes.
• Oversee training facilities, negotiate with vendors, arrange travel and visa processing.
• Track L&D expenses, manage budgets and process invoices through the HRMS system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 8 years of L&D or training experience in the Energy or Power sector.
• Proven ability to build and launch training programmes from the ground up.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus.
• Experience working in the Gulf region is advantageous.

Required skills

• Lotus Notes (strong advantage).
• HRMS for invoice and expense processing.
