Telecom Engineer – Offshore Oil & Gas

About the role

SPIE Global Services Energy is seeking a Telecom Engineer to support the maintenance, reliability and availability of telecom systems used in offshore oil and gas operations in Qatar. The role ensures safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities while contributing to continuous improvement of the telecom infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain telecom maintenance plans and procedures.
• Manage telecom assets, spare parts and inventory.
• Provide design, engineering and installation support for telecom systems.
• Assist with onboarding of new operational maintenance services.
• Review and update drawings and layouts for equipment installations.
• Coordinate space, power supply, cable routing and equipment location requirements.
• Contribute to risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company safety and operational standards.

Required profile

• Higher Secondary School Education with a 3‑year Technical Diploma or Degree (HNC, HND, or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in oil & gas or petrochemical facilities.
• At least 5 years of offshore telecom maintenance experience.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently and in a multicultural environment.
