Transportation Coordinator

About the role

V2X, a global logistics and mission-support company, is hiring a Transportation Coordinator based in Qatar to support its LOGCAP program. The coordinator monitors and manages transportation movements, including customer service, staging area management, hazardous materials documentation, RFID management, container management and safety briefings. The position is physically located in Qatar.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor all transportation movements and scheduled movements, and assist in sourcing new modes of transportation and carriers
• Analyze carrier freight costs and ensure security is coordinated for each move
• Link up teams and Movement Control Teams (MCTs) for required moves
• Input convoy movement data into the ledger, close convoy entries and track convoys on the Movement Tracking System (MTS)
• Retrieve convoy reports from MCTs via NIPR computers and follow up when they are late
• Maintain historical data on all movements and assist in creating circulation overlays
• Lead cargo truck convoys and coordinate mission preparation, equipment safety and accountability
• Move ocean freight shipments through the designated SPOE/D and lead cargo trucks

Required profile

• US citizen with a valid US passport and a high school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a US Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and a host-nation driver's license
• At least three years of experience in the transportation field, including three years of directly related work experience
• Ability to work in extreme heat, dust and desert conditions, and to wear personal protective equipment when required

Required skills

• Familiarity with HAZMAT documentation and the Integrated Booking System Container Management Module (IBS-CMM)
• Knowledge of RFID tags and the Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS)
• Knowledge of material handling equipment such as forklifts and container handlers
• Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
• Attention to detail, prioritization and ability to work under pressure
