Valve Technician / Instrument Technician / Machinist – Qatar

About the role

Our Valve Service Workshop in Qatar is expanding and seeks experienced professionals for three key positions: Valve Technician, Instrument Technician (Valves), and Machinist. The roles involve hands‑on work in valve maintenance, instrumentation, and component machining within an oil‑and‑gas environment.

Key responsibilities

• Valve Technician: dismantle, inspect, lap, assemble, pressure‑test and calibrate gate, globe, ball, butterfly, control and safety relief valves.
• Instrument Technician – Valves: maintain and troubleshoot control and actuated valves, positioners, limit switches, and pneumatic/hydraulic/electric actuators; use HART/FIELD‑BUS communicators, TREX, loop calibrators and interpret P&ID drawings.
• Machinist – Valve Shop: operate lathe, milling, drilling and grinding machines to refurbish valve stems, seats, bushings, shafts and flanges; read mechanical drawings and meet dimensional tolerances.

Required profile

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, Machining or related trade.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in industrial valve environments.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
• Prefer candidates with oil‑and‑gas, refinery, petrochemical or power‑plant background and who are currently based in Qatar.

Required skills

• Gate, globe, ball, butterfly, control and safety relief valves.
• Valve dismantling, inspection, lapping, assembly, pressure testing, calibration.
• Control valves, actuated valves, positioners, actuators, limit switches.
• Pneumatic, hydraulic and electric actuator troubleshooting.
• HART, FIELD‑BUS, TREX, loop calibrators, P&ID interpretation.
• Lathe, milling, drilling, grinding operation.
• Machining of valve stems, seats, bushings, shafts, flanges.
• Reading mechanical drawings and adhering to tolerance specifications.
