Welding Engineer – Operations (Mesaieed)

About the role

The Welding Engineer will lead the design, development and implementation of welding processes for ongoing workshop projects. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, the role ensures high‑quality welds, compliance with industry standards and safe execution of all welding activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement welding procedures tailored to project specifications and material requirements.
• Conduct inspections and audits of welding work to verify compliance with standards such as ASME, API and AWS.
• Provide technical support to maintenance, production and field teams, troubleshooting welding‑related issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, fabrication and other stakeholders to integrate welding activities into overall project plans.
• Develop and deliver training programs on welding techniques, safety practices and equipment usage.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of welding processes, qualifications and inspection results, and generate reports for audits.
• Monitor emerging welding technologies and assess their applicability to company projects.
• Ensure all welding operations adhere to safety regulations and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Welding Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–10 years of direct welding engineering experience, preferably in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or heavy manufacturing.
• Professional welding certifications such as Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations governing welding practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
