Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to oversee supplier payments and inventory accounting for our fashion retail and e‑commerce operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of import‑heavy supply chains and thrive in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process and verify supplier invoices from local and international fashion vendors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Manage local and international payment runs, track credit terms and due dates, and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle import and inventory accounting, including landed cost calculations and duty reconciliation.
• Perform payroll processing and ensure timely, accurate salary disbursement.
• Manage intercompany and multi‑country accounting across group entities.
• Book and allocate expenses accurately across relevant cost centers.
• Oversee petty cash management and support month‑end closing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree is a plus).
• 3–5 years of experience in fashion retail, e‑commerce, distribution, or trading.
• Solid experience in import accounting, inventory costing, and supplier reconciliation.
• Professional certification such as CMA, ACCA, CA Inter or equivalent is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., ERPNext, SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Tally Prime, Odoo).
