Assistant Materials Analyst

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Materials Analyst to join our maintenance materials management team within the oil, gas or petrochemical sector. The role will manage the full lifecycle of materials – from creation and BOM approval to procurement follow‑up, logistics coordination and spares preservation – ensuring continuous operational availability.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve new material requests and updates, including PO text, stock parameters and locations, via MDG.
• Validate BOM creation, changes and deletions in MDG for projects, eMOCs and shutdowns.
• Coordinate with procurement to expedite PO deliveries, resolve overdue orders and manage critical material needs.
• Handle emergency procurements, supplier technical clarifications and bid evaluations.
• Oversee repair, return and capital spare monitoring to guarantee material availability.
• Manage vendor logistics, warehouse returns, refurbishment processes and provide status reports.
• Monitor spares preservation, PM work order releases and ensure timely updates and closures.
• Resolve material discrepancies, returns, write‑offs, disposal and adjust stock levels.
• Prepare regular and ad‑hoc material status reports, including aging reservations, excess stock and obsolescence.
• Approve ZVPO for spares handover, customs clearance and coordinate loaning, repair & return activities.

Required profile

• Higher Secondary School Education plus a three‑year technical diploma (HNC/HND or equivalent) in Engineering.
• 4‑6 years of experience in maintenance materials or spares management within the oil, gas or petrochemical industry.
• Strong understanding of maintenance business processes and ability to read material specifications, P&IDs and engineering drawings.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP material transactions.
• Experience with MDG (Material Data Governance) processes.
