Automotive Technician

About the role

The Automotive Technician works under the supervision of the TMP Supervisor to perform comprehensive overhaul, repair, and maintenance on a variety of internal‑combustion‑engine vehicles and equipment. The role involves diagnosing faults, testing systems, and ensuring all work meets military performance specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full‑range repair and modification on heavy and light equipment powered by gasoline or multi‑fuel engines.
• Examine vehicles to assess damage or malfunctions and accurately troubleshoot faults.
• Test‑drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized devices.
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust components following checklists and technical manuals.
• Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, lubrications, and tune‑ups.
• Disassemble units, inspect parts for wear with micrometers, calipers, and gauges, and reassemble to specification.
• Document work and follow OSHA, EPA, and fire safety regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship in automotive repair preferred.
• At least two years of experience as an automotive maintenance mechanic.
• Valid driver’s license from country of origin and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Qatar Heavy Driver’s License.
• English reading and speaking proficiency (Level 2) and basic writing (Level 1).
• Ability to work safely with personal protective equipment in shop and outdoor environments.
