BMS Design Engineer – Control Automation & Monitoring

About the role

ABEC is seeking a BMS Design Engineer to lead the design of control automation and monitoring solutions (BMS, PLC, SCADA, Power Monitoring/Metering) for projects across the Middle East. The role bridges the bid team and project delivery, ensuring technical designs are ready for construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the interface between bid teams and project delivery, contributing to new project bids.
• Develop complete design solutions, coordinating with external suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Support Project Managers and Lead Engineers during design and engineering implementation.
• Maintain accurate design documentation, issue approvals, and ensure timely communication with project teams.
• Record timesheets, submit expense claims, and provide regular progress updates.
• Review and propose alternative engineering methods, tools, and processes to improve quality and cost.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert for BMS, PLC, SCADA, and EPMS systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and Solutions Architects, sharing best practices.
• Lead technical solution design for complex projects and contribute strategic input during bids.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing BMS, PLC, SCADA, and power monitoring/ metering solutions.
• Ability to produce software code and graphics for design documentation.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with project managers, engineering managers, and external partners.
• Experience supporting bid processes and delivering designs from specification to hand‑over.
• Mentoring capability for junior engineering staff.
