Planner Engineer – Project Scheduling Specialist

About the role

The Planner Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling project schedules to ensure timely delivery of construction and infrastructure projects. This role works closely with project teams, consultants, and contractors to monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, update, and monitor project schedules and work programs.
• Track project progress and analyze schedule performance against approved baselines.
• Identify delays, risks, critical activities, and long‑lead items, recommending corrective actions.
• Determine and monitor the project critical path and milestone achievements.
• Coordinate with project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely execution.
• Prepare progress reports, look‑ahead schedules, recovery plans, and forecasting reports.
• Monitor resource allocation, productivity, and overall project performance.
• Review and assess contractors’ and subcontractors’ schedules.
• Evaluate Extension of Time (EOT) claims and time‑related variations.
• Support project planning, cost control, and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with project timelines, contractual obligations, and objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and project controls, preferably in construction or infrastructure.
• Mandatory GCC experience with projects in Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, or Bahrain.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• UPDA registration is mandatory.
