Commis III – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis III supports the culinary team at a luxury resort by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Portion, chop, wash, peel and store fresh fruits, vegetables and other ingredients.
• Weigh, measure, mix and prepare foods according to recipes and quality standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Cook and assemble cold and hot dishes, ensuring proper presentation and portion sizes.
• Monitor food quality during preparation and test for proper cooking.
• Set up and break down work stations, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, tools and equipment.
• Check and record appliance and food temperatures, adhering to food safety policies.
• Follow all company safety, security and hygiene procedures, reporting any issues to the manager.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift objects up to 25 lb for an entire shift.

• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment.
