Electrical Technician – Industrial Maintenance

About the role

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical equipment in an industrial plant environment. You will work closely with operations, mechanical and instrumentation teams to ensure reliable power supply and minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on motors, pumps, MCCs, VFDs, switchgear, transformers and power distribution systems (LV/MV).
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, including PLC and SCADA related hardware.
• Inspect, test and maintain electrical panels, breakers, relays and control circuits.
• Assist in plant start‑up, shutdown and commissioning activities.
• Monitor electrical performance, identify potential failures and support emergency breakdown maintenance on a shift basis.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams and wiring schematics.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, LOTO and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Maintain maintenance records, reports and spare‑parts inventory.

Required profile

• Diploma / ITI / Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
• 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment or desalination plants is preferred.
• Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, VFDs, MCCs, LV/MV electrical systems and electrical safety standards.

Required skills

• Preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of MV and LV equipment.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting of motors, pumps, MCC panels and VFDs.
• Reading and interpreting electrical control schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with UPS systems and power transformers.
• Use of insulation resistance testers and circuit breaker isolation procedures.
• Understanding of protection relays for MV/LV switchgear.
