Head of Lending Operations

About the role

A leading financial institution is looking for an experienced banking professional to lead its Lending Operations function. The role oversees the full loan lifecycle—from verification to disbursement—ensuring accuracy, efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end lending operations, covering loan verification, credit processing support, customer verification (CPV), documentation, endorsement and disbursement.
• Drive operational excellence through process optimisation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and operational risk frameworks.
• Monitor performance against service level agreements (SLAs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Oversee operational reporting, internal and external audits, and business continuity planning.
• Collaborate with business units and stakeholders to enhance customer experience and operational effectiveness.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing operations team, fostering productivity and engagement.
• Support system enhancements and digital transformation projects to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in banking or financial services with significant exposure to lending operations.
• Proven leadership experience managing lending operations teams within a banking environment.
• Strong knowledge of retail lending products, loan processing, documentation, operational risk and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated experience in process improvement, automation and operational excellence initiatives.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
