Head of Music

About the role

Our partner school in Doha, Qatar, which follows the English National Curriculum, is looking for a dynamic Head of Music to lead and develop its music department. The role combines strategic leadership, curriculum development, and hands‑on teaching to inspire both staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee, plan and teach well‑structured music lessons aligned with the school’s scheme of work.
• Develop and implement a strategic plan for the growth of the music department.
• Lead, manage and effectively deploy music staff.
• Undertake pastoral duties and support student well‑being.
• Participate in school meetings related to curriculum, administration and pastoral arrangements.
• Attend parent meetings prepared to discuss student achievement and well‑being.
• Contribute to the school Development Plan and departmental initiatives.
• Organise further training and professional development for middle‑leadership staff.
• Strengthen the wider school community through music‑focused activities.

Required profile

• Committed to inspiring and motivating staff and students with high expectations.
• Team player with excellent subject knowledge.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Head of Music.
• Experience teaching the British curriculum.
• Strong communicator dedicated to each student’s success.
• Passionate, enthusiastic and optimistic teacher.
• Secure knowledge of the music subject area.
