HSE Representative / Safety Officer - Solar Plant

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is looking for a full-time HSE Representative / Safety Officer in Doha to enforce health, safety and environmental standards across solar plant construction and operation. The role covers hazard identification, incident investigation, safety training and compliance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce HSE policies and procedures across solar plant construction and operational activities.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for solar plant operations.
• Ensure adherence to HSE standards, local regulations and international best practices (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OSHA).
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and awareness sessions for workers and contractors.
• Investigate accidents, near misses and environmental incidents, prepare reports and corrective action plans.
• Perform site inspections and audits covering electrical safety, working at heights and fire prevention.
• Develop emergency response plans, including fire safety and evacuation drills.
• Monitor waste management, emissions and environmental impact of solar plant operations.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers and contractors to integrate HSE into all project phases.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents and compliance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
• Professional certification such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA or equivalent.
• Specialized training in renewable energy / solar plant safety preferred.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of solar plant construction, electrical hazards and renewable energy safety practices.
• Ability to identify hazards and implement effective control measures.
• Skilled in delivering safety training and reporting to management.
• Able to investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
