Lifting Engineer

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a Lifting Engineer in Doha. The role covers planning, supervising and inspecting lifting operations so they comply with local and international standards such as LOLER, BS7121, ASME and ISO.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review detailed lifting plans and method statements for critical and non-critical lifts.
• Conduct site surveys and risk assessments before lifting operations.
• Select the right lifting equipment (cranes, slings, shackles, spreader beams) according to load and site conditions.
• Liaise with site supervisors, crane operators, riggers and safety personnel and supervise operations.
• Inspect lifting equipment and lifting points and maintain documentation such as plans, equipment certifications and inspection records.
• Deliver toolbox talks and training on lifting and safety, and provide technical support for troubleshooting and incident investigations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Certification in Lifting Engineering or as an Appointed Person (e.g. OPITO, LEEA or equivalent).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in lifting operations in construction, oil & gas or heavy industry.
• Good communication and leadership skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging techniques and industry safety standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or other drafting software to prepare lifting plans (preferred).
