Contracts Manager (Projects)

About the role

A leading organization in Qatar is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager (Projects) to oversee the full contractual lifecycle of major capital projects, construction, infrastructure and engineering consultancy contracts. The role suits a seasoned contracts professional with strong expertise in both pre-award procurement and post-award contract administration in complex project environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review and negotiation of tender and contract documentation for major capital and infrastructure projects.
• Manage contractual activities from tendering and award through execution, close-out and final settlement.
• Advise project teams on variations, claims, extensions of time (EOT), disputes and commercial risk management.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, procurement policies, governance requirements and approval frameworks.
• Review payment applications, contractor performance, contractual correspondence and project-related commercial matters.
• Support stakeholder engagement with consultants, contractors, legal advisors and project delivery teams to safeguard contractual interests.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in contracts management, procurement, construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proven expertise in administering large-scale construction or capital project contracts.
• Demonstrated experience handling claims, variations, EOTs, dispute resolution and contract negotiations.
• Previous exposure to government, semi-government or regulated project environments is highly advantageous.
• Professional certifications such as FCCM, MRICS, MCIArb or CCM are a plus.

Required skills

• Strong experience in pre-award and post-award contract processes.
• Solid knowledge of FIDIC contracts; experience with SANAD forms of contract is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
